Jeff and Karen came to find my services through a referral at Karen’s work. It was quite flattering because she actually was sent my way by not one, but two different people. Upon asking around for a DJ two people from completely seperate sources ended up giving her my contact info and saying some really nice things. Karen informed me of this at the time she decided to book. Karen and Jeff had a beautiful wedding at the Twin Oaks House with some great vendors. This is one of those weddings that went by so fast for me when I replay it in my head. Everything was fun and flawless. This was actually the first wedding I had met Bethel Nathan at, and just one week later we worked together again at the Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla.
The Twin Oaks Garden has a lot to offer. It is already decorated beautifully from the garden, to the tent and inside the house. The antique bar offers a really nice vintage look for those looking for a less than modern appeal. Inside the house offers a place for the bridal party to get ready, while guests arrive and enjoy the beautiful ambiance. I have always been eager to work at this location. I actually lived within walking distance of it throughout my entire four years of High School!
The ceremony took place in the garden next to the tent. Bethel Nathan did an amazing job evoking emotion from the guests and telling personal and intricate stories of the bride and groom and their feelings for eachother. This wedding was memorable to me to see the love between the bride and groom. Truly a lot of emotion and love in the air, which is always so great to see.
The music was mostly top 40. They weren’t too big of a fan of 90’s music and things of older genres and wanted to keep most of the music playlist current. I had a great time mixing for them on the dance floor. The bride had a lot of friends and sisters that really enjoyed to dance. The photobooth added to the overall entertainment–as usual it is a competition to get people on the dance floor when compared to the photobooth, but I was still able to grab them with a lot of the current hits, LMFAO and otherwise. The guests stayed until the very end of the evening dancing the night away in the tent. I really Twin Oaks House has a lot to offer from the serenity fo the garden to the atmosphere of the tent. It seems like a great locaiton for those looking for an easy way to plan a wedding that is photogenic. Not too many 3rd party vendors and decor needed, this place is ready to go!
A sincere thanks to Jeff and Karen for inviting me to be a part of their special day. It was truly fun and an honor to show your friends and family a good time. Best of luck in all you do!
