Nicole and Nick came to find my services through a friend who’s wedding I DJ’d. She was the bridesmaid at a wedding several years previous at Paradise Point in San Diego. Nicole and Nick were a great couple to work with at such a great venue. I have worked at Los Willows years before and have always been very pleased with the layout, beauty and flow of the events that take place there.
Los Willows is unqiue in the sense that the bride comes across the pond on the far side of the property on a pontoon boat. This really adds to the ceremony processional. The mother of the bride, sang the processional song as well, which was really very cool and emotional to see. The ceremonies take place outside in the gazebo. The bar and cocktail take place outside, and the reception takes place inside in the tent. While uplighting isn’t really an option with a room like this, it isn’t really needed as the tent provides it’s own decor lighting.
Los Willows has a lot of weddings and events throughout the year and is ran by a very dedicated staff. They seem to have several onsite coordinators and everything ran extremely smooth. The tent reminds me of Pala Mesa resort and many other venues that have a similar vibe.
Another unique aspect of Los Willows is the old vehicle that takes the bride and groom back into the reception area. I believe it is a classic Rolls Royce or something similar, adding yet another photogenic opportunity, a touch of elegance and class.
The party went off without a hitch with lots of open dancing towards the end of the evening. It was a very fun and responsive crowd which made the night go by too fast. The dance floor was packed the entire time and they all were ready to dance the night away!
