The Admiral Kidd Club boasts when of the best views out of all of San Diego’s Wedding Venues. While Tom Ham’s is often renowned for it’s view of San Diego’s Skyline, it is actually adjacent to it. Admiral Kidd sits on the Naval Base in Point Loma. It’s backdrop from behind either the upstairs or downstairs room, including the ceremony lawn is the San Diego bay and San Diego Skyline.
Esteban and Geneva were a pleasure to work with from the start. They knew they wanted uplighting to enhance the view of the room. While Admiral Kidd Club has a beautiful view, the room itself can definitely make use of some enhancement. Just about everyone I’ve met or spoke to about Admiral Kidd feel that it’s an affordable and worthy upgrade to hilight the pylons with uplighting. The downstairs rooms have a bit of a challenge with uplighting however, since there aren’t outlights near the pylons, you often end up lighting the walls and enhancing the cake table instead of the pylons.

Towards the end of dinner Esteban and Geneva opted to have a photo montage. While the Admiral Kidd Club has projectors and screens from either end of the room, they chose to have one screen in the center of the room in front of the head table. I think this is fun, since the guests usually have to get up and out of their seats to get a good view of the screen.
The dance floor was packed until the end of the night at 12 a.m. It was an absolute blast to DJ for this group. They loved to dance and that’s exactly what, as a DJ, I enjoy the most.
At the end of the night Esteban gave me a great compliment: “You really knocked it out of the park”. I remember this, because strangely enough, three different grooms over the 2010 wedding season, said those exact words. I never really thought about that expression before and remember making a mental note of it when three different people from three different walks of life, all said the exact same phrase. A great compliment however, thanks Esteban and Geneva for allowing me to be a part of your Wedding day!
